About NIBC Bank
NIBC Bank (NIBC) is a leading merchant bank focused on the mid-cap company segment in North-Western Europe. NIBC offers innovative corporate finance, risk management and investment management solutions to corporate clients, financial institutions, institutional investors, financial sponsors and family offices. NIBC has offices in The Hague, London, Brussels, Frankfurt and Singapore.
NIBC is owned by a consortium of international financial institutions led by J.C. Flowers & Co LLC.
NIBC is rated A-/Baa1/BBB+ by respectively Fitch, Moody's and S&P.
Funding strategy
NIBC's primary source of funding has always been the issuance of debt securities through both private placements and public offerings. For the Australian market the bank has set up a Kangaroo programme. All programmes give the issuer the flexibility to do smaller issues and to use a variety of financing structures. NIBC is known for being a flexible and innovative issuer, able to issue most structures. NIBC aims for further diversification of its funding sources by instruments as corporate deposits and covered bonds, as the unsecured term funding market is currently less attractive.
AUD activity
As of March 30 2008 NIBC had A$460 million outstanding under its Kangaroo programme, following its inaugural three-year transaction in February 2006. The bank also has a total of A$166 million outstanding in Eurobonds and Uridashi transactions.
