Designed to provide banks, investors and businesses a science-based framework to assess the sustainability of investment opportunities, the next step in the taxonomy’s rollout is a live pilot scheme involving major financial markets entities.

The Australian Sustainable Finance Institute has early next year as the target for the publication of guidance for bond issuance in line with the new local taxonomy. But the institute insists the market does not need to wait for official guidance before pricing labelled bonds with claimed taxonomy alignment.
