The Australian securitisation industry and its international participants gathered – in record number – at the Australian Securitisation Forum’s annual conference in Sydney in early December 2024. Discussion topics took in the record year for new issuance, future capacity and alternative funding options, credit risk profiles and the economic outlook, and market function and liquidity.

An annual investor update in London found the Australian securitisation market – and key European investors – in confident mood despite a complex domestic economic backdrop. Market participants describe a resilient collateral environment and ongoing positive capital market conditions that they believe should linger for the medium term at least.

MTF opened the New Zealand dollar securitisation market for 2024 in what the issuer describes as a positive environment for structured finance issuance. A year since its last term deal, the borrower says loan origination determined the timing of market return but also suggests issuing first is a good way to ensure maximum support in New Zealand.
